Named for a stargazer. Made for the ear that seeks the stars.
Johannes Kepler spent his life mapping the movement of the heavens, finding order in patterns of light. The Kepler Starburst carries the same quiet precision.
A geometric starburst in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver radiates from a single 5A cubic zirconia. The points are clean and even, and each one catches light at its own angle. The stone at the centre adds a deeper sparkle. Together they create two layers of light: crisp flashes from the silver points, and brilliance from the stone within.
At 7mm, the starburst reads clearly as a star, with points that look deliberate rather than blurred. It's still small enough to sit discreetly at the helix or upper lobe. The rhodium finish sharpens each point, so the piece looks more precise than its size suggests.
Place it at a healed helix as the celestial high point of a composed ear. Add it to an upper lobe as a geometric accent. Or swap it in for a plain ball stud in a second piercing, so the same spot gets a shape worth a closer look. Paired with the Crescent Moon and Star stud, it starts a night sky across the ear.

FAQ
How is the Kepler different from the Astralis North Star and the Lyra Starburst?
All three are celestial studs, each with its own shape. The Astralis North Star is a pointed north star in plain polished silver, with no stone. The Lyra Starburst has softer, rounded points and a 5A CZ centre on a flatback. The Kepler is the most geometric of the three, with sharp, even points, a 5A CZ centre and a rhodium finish on a barbell. All three can be worn together in one ear.
Which piercings suit the Kepler best?
The Kepler suits healed helix, cartilage and upper lobe piercings. At the helix, it works as the highest point in a celestial ear. In an upper lobe or second piercing, it adds more detail than a plain ball stud.
Can I wear the Kepler in a new helix or cartilage piercing?
No. The Kepler is for fully healed piercings only. Sterling silver can irritate a healing piercing and may discolour the skin. Cartilage piercings often take 6 to 12 months to heal. For a fresh piercing, choose implant-grade titanium, like the pieces in MNML's Elements collection.
What's the difference between a barbell stud and a flatback stud?
A barbell has a straight post with a decorative end or ball that screws on. A flatback has a flat disc at the back that sits flush against the skin. Both suit healed cartilage piercings. Flatbacks are often more comfortable if you sleep on that side.
Does the starburst stay upright?
Once the barbell is fastened, the starburst stays in place. Check the angle of the points as you do up the back, and adjust it before you finish tightening.
How do I put the Kepler in safely?
Wash your hands and clean the stud with a sterile saline spray or a jewellery-safe wipe. Insert the post gently, following the angle of your piercing, and don't force it. Fasten the back securely without over-tightening.
How do I build a celestial ear stack?
Place the Kepler at the helix as the top point, then add the Crescent Moon and Star stud in an upper lobe piercing. Anchor the lobe with a simple huggie. Keep the rest of the ear minimal so the celestial pieces lead.
Is the stone a diamond?
No. The centre stone is a 5A-grade cubic zirconia, a high-grade lab-created stone.
Will the Kepler tarnish?
Sterling silver can darken over time, and rhodium plating wears gradually with regular use, often faster in humid weather. Keep it away from perfume, lotion and chlorine, and store it dry in its pouch. If it looks dull, give it a gentle, dry buff with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive silver-polishing cloths, which can wear the plating.
Is the Kepler suitable for sensitive ears?
Rhodium plating over 925 sterling silver is well tolerated in healed piercings by most people. If your ears react easily to metals, or your piercing is still healing, the titanium pieces in MNML's Elements collection are the most reliable choice.
Is the Kepler sold as a pair?
No. It's sold as a single piece for ear curation. Order two if you'd like one in each ear.
