Product Details
Quiet sparkle. Clean form. A modern point of light.
Not every piece needs to announce itself. Some simply catch the light at the right moment and leave it there.
The Lyra is a small starburst in 925 sterling silver, with a single 5A cubic zirconia at its centre. It's clear, bright and just sharp enough to draw the eye without holding it too long. At 4.5mm and 0.23g, it's a tiny, precise point of light.
The flatback sits flush against the skin, so no post sticks out to catch on hair or clothing. The front stays clean and the back stays smooth.
Wear it alone in a single piercing for a barely-there look. Or place it within a larger curation as an upper lobe accent, a helix point or a small celestial detail. It's small enough to sit quietly in a stack, and precise enough to be noticed when the light finds it.
A small star, thoughtfully placed. Understated, luminous and timeless.

FAQ
What is a flatback stud?
A flatback has a smooth, flat disc at the back instead of a butterfly back. It sits flush against the skin, so it's less likely to catch on hair or clothing. It's also more comfortable in cartilage piercings.
What does 5A cubic zirconia mean?
5A is a supplier grade for high-quality cubic zirconia, chosen for clarity, clean colour and precise cutting. CZ grades aren't an official gemmological standard, and some suppliers use higher labels such as 8A. At the Lyra's small size, 5A gives a clear, sharp sparkle.
Which piercings suit the Lyra?
The Lyra suits healed helix, cartilage and upper lobe piercings, where a small, flush-fitting stud works best. It also makes a subtle accent in a second lobe piercing.
Can I wear the Lyra in a new cartilage piercing?
No. The Lyra is for fully healed piercings only. Sterling silver can irritate a healing piercing and may discolour the skin. Cartilage piercings often take 6 to 12 months to heal. For a fresh piercing, choose implant-grade titanium, like the pieces in MNML's Elements collection.
How is the Lyra different from the Kepler Starburst Barbell Stud?
Both are small starbursts with a 5A CZ centre. The Lyra is a 4.5mm star with softer points on a flatback, so it sits flush and quiet. The Kepler is a 7mm geometric starburst with sharper points, a rhodium finish and a barbell. Choose the Lyra for a delicate accent, and the Kepler for a bolder celestial point.
How do I build a celestial ear stack?
Place the Kepler at the helix as the highest point. Add the Lyra in an upper lobe piercing, and the Crescent Moon and Star stud in another. Anchor the lobe with a simple huggie, and keep everything else minimal so the stars lead.
Is the stone a diamond?
No. The centre stone is a 5A-grade cubic zirconia, a high-grade lab-created stone.
Will the Lyra tarnish?
Sterling silver can darken over time with sweat, humidity and skincare products. Keep it away from perfume and lotion, wipe it with a soft cloth after wearing, and store it dry in its pouch.
Is the Lyra suitable for sensitive ears?
925 sterling silver is well tolerated in healed piercings by most people. If your ears react easily to metals, or your piercing is still healing, the titanium pieces in MNML's Elements collection are the most reliable choice.
Is the Lyra sold as a pair?
No. It's sold as a single piece for ear curation. Order two if you'd like one in each ear.
